The Bridge program is designed to teach skating skills in a small group lesson format and to introduce the benefits of club membership. Skaters will be working together on skills and creating friendships along the way. This type of program introduces skaters to all of the genres in skating and what is required if they choose to continue to skate recreationally, begin testing in the USFS system, and/or participate in competitions/shows.
Skaters are grouped in small numbers by ability. Each group will receive instruction customized for the group’s ability level. Beginner skills are continually worked on as well as more advanced turns, jumps and spins. A building block methodology is used when learning new skills.
The program is designed to give the general public the opportunity to both explore the sport of figure skating and gain insight into GFSC’S various programs and in house-events (competitions, shows, and test sessions). The class is offered once a week and is taught by GFSC staff professionals. The Bridge program is an excellent way to “bridge” skaters from the recreational level of figure skating into a more structured program geared towards testing, competing, or just the desire to continue learning new skating skills.
*You may drop in "try" a class at any time with fee payable the same day. Check payable to Judy Ferris-Brunett
