When to join a figure skating club?
Joining a club is an important step for a figure skater. The GFSC offers a place to train and call home where you can advance your skating skills while creating lasting friendships. Training with private coaches prepares you for taking US Figure Skating tests and competing in USFSA sanctioned events. The club offers daily ice sessions, quarterly test sessions, in-house ice shows/exhibitions, social events, and fun activities for skaters of all levels. For parents, the club offers volunteer opportunities which create a welcoming skating environment that fosters comradery and a passion for skating.
Want to learn to skate?
We offer a Learn to Skate program endorsed by US Figure Skating, USA Hockey, US Speed Skating and the Professional Skaters Association (PSA). Learn to skate teaches the first stages of skills to form a strong foundation for your skater to explore the world of skating including figure skating, hockey, speed skating and more. Skaters will progress at their own pace working toward mastering each skill before moving on to the next level. Visit Learn to Skate page for more information.
We also partner with RIT's Learn to Skate program. Click here for more information.
